Remembering Kari on the one year anniversary of her passing

Kari Theobald - A Life to Celebrate

February 28, 1977 to August 16, 2006

From Timmins Ontario to Paris France, from London England to Sydney Australia, she blazed trails, touched hearts and made countless friends. She was an accomplished pianist and a member of both the Timmins and the Ontario Youth Singers. She was the Governor General Medal recipient from O’Gorman High School. She earned an Honours BA from McMaster University, a Masters Degree from Yale and a Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto. Her sparkling eyes, stunning smile, unparalleled strength and grace touched the souls of everyone she met. She was, is and will continue to be an inspiration to us all.

She battled ovarian cancer with the same strength, tenacity and beauty with which she used to live her life. Kari left this world at home with her family by her side on 16 August 2006. So thankful for her life, her parents, Louis and Rita Chasse, her sisters, Lysa Theobald and Tracy (Robert) Blain, her niece Brittaney Theobald and the love of her life David Serafini. She is now safe in the arms of her Mere and Pere, Jeannine and Florian Whissell of Iroquois Falls, ON.

A memorial celebration will take place in Stratford, ON on Monday 21 August at Immaculate Conception Church, 50 Well St., at 6:00pm, reception to follow at Tango’s Coffee Bistro, 104 Ontario St., from 7:00 – 10:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations in her honour to the Cancer Care Advocacy Coalition.
